Hmmm looking good, Dan.
Getting there…
And thanks to Jonathan for the brackets
Due to some misunderstandments, they still arrived. Hurray [8D]
The fan-combo looks nice, but i hope this works in summer as well.
Pull-type fans are the ones most perferrable, but this should also
work. Perhaps a bigger one on the right can do even more magic.
Hopefully the g-charger isn’t warmed up too much by the fan on the left.
Anyways. following the thread and hopefully new good news soon.

yes, it would be best to have the fans on the rear of the radiator, but its no room. but. a friend of mine has the same setup. but on a 16vt. and that works great
only the right fan (if in front of the car) goes on low heat, and both on high heat.
well, rented myself some plates this weekend, and logged about 200km on the car, everything worked perfect, only mishap i hat was the charge air return popped off by the throttlebody
. so, its not long until i’m gonna get it controlled, and get my plates
looking forward to this. after thats beend one, i need some new coilovers. i don’t like the saggy original front springs and the passat rear springs. hard in the rear and soft in the front.
and fix a couple of exhaust leaks. i should just get a new exhaust, i know. because the exhaust i’ve got is the original 1P one. wich has too much backpressure, so the engine has a bit of astma
i hate waiting for parts. feels like forever when you need something
well, done “some” good these last days, been modifying my front fenders. and mounted my gti-arches. and thats just about it
abs sensor and bolts for more camber adjustemt came today oh, what a happy day
Yippeey
Time to get going on stuff again.
Luckily all came in today.
Have fun, installing them !
Byebye
abs-sensor is now on, and the abs works as it should nice one..
guess its just about time to book a time for the alignment now
did some minor things to the syncro today, got the engine timed inn perfectly.. hard work when you are in an intense hangover
i’ve been doing some thinking, which isn’t good for me, since my head starts to hurt when i try to activate my very inactive head :p haha
from what/where could i get a new 5th gear? i can’t stand driving on the freeway in 100kph at 2900rpm. just too high for me, 5th is only a cruising gear anyways, since the 100kph is the highest we’re allowed to drive in the A-roads on norway (and only a selective bit of them aswell, since 80kph is std most places)
This is not going to be cheap… But i can assure you, it’s worth it :
TDI 5th gear
Have to do some research for numbers.
i’ve had no luch finding any ratios for the 02c transaxle
02C = 02A = plenty stuff for :
ASD from a Passat 16v has the .71 5th gearing
CHA from passat TDI also has the .71 5th gearing
ASD&CHA:
pos 38 – 02A311361M Z=33/46 – €87,58
pos 40 – 02A311158R Z=33/46 – €139,83
Check with Chris to verify this stuff. This should give you a very low 5th
which the g60 supports perfectly. Torque enough.
You can work out your revs/speed here http://www.scirocco.org/gears/
I am going to be running
my new gearbox will have an late ASU casing (with oilways) a late ASU cast iron transfer box, with VR6 gears & final drive (3.38 to 1)
Theoretically with 195/50 15 inch tyres this will give a top speed in 5th gear (.84 to 1) of 248 KPH or 154 MPH at 6500 rpm,
at 100kph the engine will be turning over at 2615 rpm
Providing of course that the engine produces enough power to achieve this
what do you mean by oilways?
to the angledrive? my case has that
