hahah.. this was actually an easy fix once i figured it out
so, a picture guide will come
Hurrah its sorted!
yeah, and an easy fix aswell a real one minute job
okay, so, here’s a little guide, this have to be done, if you do like me. i had to lengthen the wires for the windscreen wipers. and had a plug lying around with about 15cm of wires on it from a golf. and i didn’t notice that two of the wires are flipped on the passat harness. so i just soldered according to color, this made it short out on intermittent and half-speed..
oh well.
on pic one, you can see the golf plug, which is wrong. second pic is from the passat, and how it should be when using this mix of wiring harnesses

Passat:
Notice the Green and Green/black wires. these have to change their location. this is an easy fix, i used some welding wire, and pressed down into the plug, and pulled out the wire with the connecor on it. and just put it back
hopefully this might be of some help to others who may encounter this problem when convertion their syncro/non-syncro golf from 1.8 Digifant II to 1.8 Digifant I
oh, and started on fitting my fog-lamps today, i’m not using the stock ones, since the light output on them sucks. so i’m using my old trusty Hella Micro DE lenses
I see you got your printer, which did you buy?
i didn’t buy one visited my dad and borrowed his for a second
well, been a few slow days now, hopefully getting my act together next week, trying to get the car ready for its bi-annual EU-test
Lucky you Bi-annual, its every year here until the car is 30 years old, only then its every two years.
still sucks that we have to go trough this in order to get the license plates on the car
anyhow, does anyone know the pin-outs for the radiator switch? the 3-pin one. need it in order to make my fan work as it should
i was supposed to go with two fans, but i’ve only got room for one, since the one i have suck the air, not blowing it. if it was a way to “reverse” it, that would be great, because then i could
mount them in the front, and not the rear of the radiator
still waiting for my radiator neck tho. still hasn’t showed up
glad you got the intercooler brackets.
yeah, you who sent them to me?
think i’ve sorted out the fan thingy now the company that sold me the fan told me that it was a sucking fan only, but, all i needed to do was to reverse the wiring thus making it a blowing fan.
so, buying another one on friday, so that i’ve got two of them in front of the radiator.
started to make the wiring harness for the fans today, using the original radiator-switch. will make and post a wiring-scheme on this in a while. i’m wiring it so that it runs one fan when the temp gets to the first triggerpoint, and both on the second triggerpoint
i’m using a little diode inorder to make this work as it should, info in this will come
Dan
both the fans are now installed, and working perfectly. not much noise, but moves a ****-load of air which is a good thing
anyhow, some pics
heres the first fan mounted, its mounted with zip-ties trough the radiator, works great
both fans installed
on low heat step, only one fan is blowing (left one)
and on step two, both fans are blowing

well i sorted the brackets and my girl friend posted when she was only meant to get a price hence adding the wrong destination.
I got to take the G60 for a little 1km test-drive today, its limited how far I can go, since there is no license plates on the car. and if
I get caught by the blue men, they would most likely give me a huge ticket (somewhere between 500 and 1000€) but, everything works great. altho the oil gets a little hot (102c)
so, a new abs-sensor now, and some more exhaust fixing, and i’m off to the eu-control thingy. so i can get my license plates
