its been a long time between posts now. but, the car has been tested now, goes like stink got the silicone hoses and everything
i’ve found a G60 radiator in norway that i’m buying. so thats sorted out brackets for the IC is found, so. things are coming along now
havn’t taken pics in a while either, no real visible progress. so i havn’t bothered
Quote, the car has been tested now, goes like stink [:p]
lol
looking more and more like a golf again
got the bonnet on, and the plastic in the raintray. some minor cleaning left in the engine bay
Biggest problem now is the radiator, the size and location of it makes it unsuitable for my needs
and since its so wide, it makes the battery unable to fit, and this is the smallest battery i’ve got too
Front is more or less back together, but, since i’m using a mix of original and unoriginal bumper brackets, the bumber are sagging, but, that should be an easy fix
loads of different colors red, blue, green and gray haha
finally got a new radiator from a rallye golf, cost me about 35euros too great price
took some pics of it installed, but dosn’t look like they was saved on my SDcard in my cam
not much happend yet. still looking for a radiator fan alternative. seems that i’m going for 2x30cm slimline fans. running them off the original thermostat, driving one then the other when the heat rises. should work ok
but, just one question, i have a relay, with its own harness. numbered 31. does that have to be installed? does this run the fan? or is it just the fan-afterrun system? (which i’m not using anyways)
Given the higher temperatures involved with a G lader motor personally I would keep the fan afterrun system in place,
I think that long term its probably going to be saving you some money as the residual heat in these motors can be enormous,
and with no cooling airflow things can start to get damaged very quickly,
Don’t forget that if VW had thought it was not needed then they would not have fitted it!
yeah, but is it fitted as standard on the passats that was delivered in norway? since this is a cold country i mean. but, its only a relay, and a few wires, then its back in place
oh, and chris, we talked about those hub-centric bolts the other day, you know where those can be obtained?
insane. eurosportacc wanted $100 in shipping.. well send an email to the two others could be cheaper
The American ebay one will ship to Norway for either 31 or 38 usd depending on the service used, & he accepts paypal
US $31.05 Norway USPS Priority Mail International
US $38.00 Norway USPS Express Mail International
Seller ships within 1 day after receiving cleared payment.
true enough, but, thats standard rates. often they will ship cheaper if you ask happend a few times. so i’m going to try that
saw that he had some negative feedback too. but hopefully it will be okay
brackets for the intercooler came today altho they was sent to my adress . but with holland as country. not norway but still came damn great i say
brackets are now installed. buuuuut.. as always, things does not line up as it should
anyone know if there are difference between the inlet necks on the radiator? because the one that came with the original rallye radiator is angeled wrong
did a search in etka, but that didnt help me much, as the partnumbers are close to identical
i’ve got a picture of the neck showing how wrong this is
partnumber on the neck i have is : 535 121 647
and etka says there is another one, but my guess is that they are the same?
that number is : c 191 121 647
and just for the hell of it, heres how it will look
That will be a differently angled neck just for the Airco version
