On Saturday I changed my ‘slicks’ and put on the Vredstein SnowTracs that came with the car. This morning I drove to work (31mls) in the snow. BL**DY MARVELOUS!!! The car didn’t put a foot wrong in the 150mm (6″) plus deep snow. Even came up Titsey Hill (1 in 7) without any problems (apart from the 2WDs littered all over it).

The main problem seems to be people in their 2WDs trying impossible manoeuvers and blocking the roads!!

Get out there and use your car for what it was designed to do.

    Enjoy!

Thats very good. Its good to hear that the syncros are doing their job right.

How is everyone else coping with the snow in their syncro?

I will bet you arrived at work feeling rather smug and with a big [:D] on your face,

I will also bet that you are looking forward to and can’t wait for the journey home tonight as well! [:p] [;)]

P.S. no snow where I am here in Holland yet.

    Am I THAT transparent????

Going to go home after lunch so that I can get home in daylight. I don’t fancy driving home in the predicted heavy snow in the dark.

I thought the snow was coming from your way, Chris! Or is it further North from you? Hope you get some soon!

Had some fun drifting around the car park at Castle Combe on virgin snow this afternoon, after going to Merlin Motor Sport to pick up some bits….. in the Passat, not the Golf, natch.

I even had to take mine out, no tax mot insurance (or number plates) did about 60 miles, and only saw one car, possibly the best fun I’ve ever had in a car.[:D] took the GTD out the next night and got stuck stright the way[:(]

Probably not the cleverest thing you have ever done to let people know on a public forum that you have broken several laws, Also not very responsible in my view [V]

Sorry Chaz got to agree with Spike, if you had hit a car when you were out, tough on them is it?

interesting question though – are you? I thought fully comp covered you even if it was your fault – which I had assumed covered speeding just as it would being distracted or just doing something dumb at the critical moment…like people blatantly do.
