Anyone interested in purchasing my vw syncro???
The basics: F-reg, 1800cc, 5 door, red, rear spoiler braking light, alloys, no sunroof, pas, 101000miles, Mot Nov 2008, Tax Jan 2008.
I use this car mostly every day, good runner, starts first time, few rust spots here and there.
I would ideally like about £1400 for it but offers welcome..
I will post photo’s when i can but raining so much at moment.. lol

Ok it maybe a little over priced, but its not bad, and no modifications done to it apart from mentioned and lots of things been done to it for MOT and general maintenance.. What sort of price they normally go for?…
I bought it as a car for work, never heard of the syncro til i got home and boyfriend said thats gonna dig deep into my pocket for petrol.. lol..
I was used to GTI mark 2’s and polo’s..
Price-wise what you think then??? any help most appreciated.
TaThat just shows how little your boyfriend knows about the Golf 2 Syncro! my last carb version returned overall about 31/32 mpg – thats nearly 7 miles to the liter.
my current injection Golf 2 Syncro is returning nearer 40 mpg – nearly 9 miles per liter.Let ebay be your guide – check ‘completed items’ and have a look to see what Golf Syncros have been sold lately. I think probably half your initial price, to be honest, but that’s just my opinion.
Unfortunately book price for them is a paltry £700 or so – distressing i know
To be honest – if one sold near you for 1200 I’d take it there to sell… clearly they’ve got some good sales folk on the go. Here prices tend to be governed by the “Ebay going rate” which proably won’t do your pocket any favours.
in my view you can ask what ya want for any car ,you may not sell it but ! someone out there may want that specific car and might just drop lucky !as far as moderators coming on and bitching about your pricing i think they are well ……out of oredr to say the least..i have seen mk2 gti fetching anything up to 3k for a bog std car !!!!! so a syncro being alot rarer why cant you ask good money …

Decided to keep the beloved Syncro..
Boyfriend grown fond of it…I live in Dorset, anyone know of where i can get hold of exhaust parts, front box blown, also it is a box instead of an oblong shape is this rare???

Hi Encro, Does your car have a carburettor or fuel injection? in any case it is a parralel double box system, the carb version had a silencer box(es) while the injection version had a double cat, if you are not sure which you have just e-mail me an underbonnet photo.

It is a carburettor..
It has a square boxes type but no-one seems to stock this one, so looks like i’ll have to get it custom made.This car costing me the earth.. lol
Clutch just replaced… but think the garage did not do something right as it wont start this morning.. starter motor!.
