It’s from a Jetta Syncro and I have a 16V Jetta.

It should go straight in then, but you will have to swap the reverse light switch plug for the Passat Syncro one.

Yes as it will have the rear diff wiring & the reverse light switch wiring, which the 2wd harness will not have

it wouldn’t matter if it came out of a golf or a jetta syncro. other then the obvious differences between them, they are technically identical

and there is a big chance that the reverse won’t work either way

i don’t have 4×4 in reverse ;(

Why don’t you have reverse?

i have reverse, but the wiring/vacuum/something to the rear diff isn’t working, so 4×4 won’t engage in reverse. there is some vacuum/electric lever back there which has to work for that to happen, mine doesn’t..

and that kinda sucks when theres snow 8th months of the year here

Danny) is it your vacuum/lectric lever that does not work? if you could your wiring & vacuum & let me know, cos I think I might have a spare here.

Jetta) Actually it is mechanical! however the mechanical part is controlled by the electro/vacuum part
