    I see this sub frame at VW Heritage and I was wondering why it says not for Syncro? Does this mean that the sub frame needs to be changed on my 16V car for the Syncro conversion?

    It does not say not for Syncro, it actually says excluding G60/Rallye/Golf Country models

    it is Suitable for the Syncro!

    I thought the Golf Syncro and Rallye Golf had the same suspension and drive line?

    The front subframe is slightly different in that the Rallye has a counterbalance weight bolted to it & the bracket for this is not fitted to the std Syncro subframe

    its not only the counterbalance thingy, but there is also an additional mounting point on the subframe.

    All G60s have them, fwd and syncro. same subframe

    So, I’m good with my 16V front subframe? That my concern.

    Here is one from a G60, I don’t see any difference.

    oh, we were talking about different things for a while here.

    thats the front crossmember. and that is pretty much the same all over on the MK2’s

    subframe = K-frame.

    Oh, yes, my mistake. I (originally) was referring to this thing.
