    Hi,

I wonder if there is any benefits in upgrading from a regular rod-shift 020 to cable shift 02C, that includes rear diff as well.

Since there is no limited slip available for the rod-shift syncro, but is for cable shift syncro, I now wonder if it there is any feasibility in justifying the upgrade. Also it has something to do with an ease of swap, as in upgrading rear brake from drum to disc.

Can anyone throw some opinions/suggestions on this please?

rear is the same. so no point on actually “upgrade” that one if going 02c :)

how ever, installing LSD front and rear should make it a blast to drive in the snow :)

Apart from being a lot stronger the 02C box will give you higher ratios so reducing your revs at high speed.

Housey, that is exactly what I am looking at!
So from your comment I can just go ahead and buy the 02C rear limited slip for my syncro then.

Chris, some say the cable shift tranny has a bit funny feeling when shifting, notchy/mushy, I forgot what it was that I heard, maybe I should find a corrado with a stick shift and see for myself.

    Thanks for the reply!

    Good idea,
btw VW have a balance weight for the cablechange changer mech, P/N 357 711 188A
its a similar idea as fitted to the Golf 3 rodchange box & smooths out the shifting.
