    When fitting the rear axle, with the main bolt that go thru the mounting bush, should it just be the case of lining up and bolt up?

    The ones on the outter part on the axle that connects to the 3 bolt mount

    Yes, The way, Just line them up & bolt up to torque.

    Thx mate, reason i asked is im fitting a rear axle to a mk1 golf and trying to use the original mk1 subframe mounts but if i do it’s way to short so im making new mount points for the axle.

    You might check with nutter4x4 as he did this conversion a few years back.
