    hi,
i’m new here and i found too many
    valuable informations from members.
    recently i gained a mk2 syncro
and i started rebuilding the car.
i determine add a 16vT engine and i need some info about
    NON haldex differentials and transmission.
how “power” can withstand if i rebuild old stuff from car ?
    i count about 450~500hp from engine & i hope it’s enough
    to run car reliability.
i think use a 6 gear transmission from audi A6 quattro or
a 5 gear long from diesel tdi.
thnx in advance for any help.

you cannot use an A6 transmission :) not unless you got a car with a torsen setup

you need to use either the stock syncro, or the O2C syncro setup (passat syncro, rallye, golf 3 2.0 syncro etc)

vr6 can be used if you replace the bellhousing

you can go the haldex route, using (preferable the Gen1 haldex) this is from MK IV R32 (need to replace the bellhousing)
Golf MK IV TDI 4motion, or skoda/seat with the same setup

Before you start thinking about putting 450/500 bhp through a Syncro system (even an O2C) I suggest you read this

Its the transfer box that is the weak link

you think the best solution is the convert from my quattro A6
all the transfer box (with transmission) to syncro body ?
think (but i’m not sure 100%) the rallye g60
have the same transfer box with syncro golf but different transmission ratio.

it will take a new front subframe from scratch and you`ll need the A6 rear diff for it to work. Which means converting the rear as well to audi torsen,
