ModeratorYou should have this set up? the non return valve number 4 is connected to the inlet manifold and basically it controls the drive to the rear wheels

Participantwell, the rear wheels is not engaging when the car is reversed, could this be the problem?
the swith for the reversing lights is shot, so i need a new one. i guess this is all connected?
and the electical connector in the rear was not connected either

ModeratorAs you say, this is most definitely all connected,
The reversing light switch P/N 191 919 823D was dropped without replacement on 01-06-2007 and there are none left anywhere in within VW,
I have some rebuilt ones here available on an exchange basis at 25 euros each + postage, or I will rebuild your switch for the same price.(Considering that they cost over 40eu each when they were available from VW I think thats a fair price)

Participantlate answer, but have been busy for a while

the switch is of the type above here, but somebody has messed with the wiring.
so. going to redo about 1 feet of the wiring, using soldering and heatshrink tubing
could help, if not, the switch is faultySeptember 8, 2009 at 12:25 am #6309Chris S
ModeratorPlease ignore the yelloe wire that runs across the picture from left to right as is is not connected with the reverse switch in any way.
