I’ll have to have a look, I can’t remember (but I trip over it every time I go in my garage) :/

Worse case scenario is (if I ever find a nice ‘reasonably priced’ syncro) is to fab-up any missing mounts – done it before when fitting a MK1 GTi box to a MKII derv – most of the mounting holes were there, some on the engine fell between the ones on the gearbox though, didn’t stop me though. ;)

Edit – just found the ‘subscribe’ button so it won’t take me a week or more to answer replies! Sorry 😮

Haven’t tried the Bilt-Hamber product, have used Miogard previously, though not on any Golfs (obviously).

Cracking product but bloody expensive – then again, replacement panels are too, and gas for the welder . . . . . . . :/

I’m hoping the 16V still runs, it was stored in the car with the rodent housemate. It still turns over by hand but I haven’t dared take the head off for a looky-loo yet (too afraid of what I may find)!!

We live and learn, and I’m learning that Syncro’s are as rare as hens teeth (and twice as expensive). 😮

Hi, I’m Andy from Lincolnshire and have sworn off scrapping Golfs forever.
Just said goodbye to my non-starter project rear-engined MkII – left the shell for so long the tin-worm hit the bottom of the A pillars and windscreen surround!

(Oh, and a rat set up home in there and left 2″ deep of rat-s4!t on the entire inside!!) :/

    So, no more ‘fixer-uppers’ as a man with a truck keeps fetching them off me . . . . . . .

    Looking for a nice Syncro now as a home for the 2.0 16V with 2x 45DCOE’s I still have lying around . . . . . .
