I’ve sourced a new dash and new front bumper with red trim to match the rear, they will go on and in come the next sunny weekend.
I got some new foot mats from VW and they really pull the interior together. Also stuck in some original speakers in the rear, 20 years old and still pumping.
Black badges front and back coming soon and then no more chrome.
Almost has a full vag service history, im missing 03 to 08, gutted.

When driving it makes a nice loud raw, really making me want to drive hard! Love it best thing I ever did to it. (appart from raising it!)
I got it off a scrap golf, so not sure where you can get one, although I think my brother might have one for sale, as he accidently won two on eBay! When his crappy pienberg carb stopped working.
I’ll ask him and post update.Yesyes im looking for something pancake like.

Especially your insurance man! []
My insurance chaps are really nice as long as i tell them everything and don’t have a massive change from stock, i think im allowed to push it by an extra 30bhp without suffering any price hikes.
Brentacre are the chaps, they’re a load of Welsh dubbers who know what a syncro is and went “ohhh nice” when i changed my insurance a couple of months ago.
dubtasticMemberi selflessly offered my services to drive over to a wedding somewhere in Germany in August, i have been practicing my fingers to the bone on Forza on the xbox and dropping hints about the Wolfsburg Museum.
dubtasticMemberwell thats just going to look boring, i want people to know without me having to open my mouth.
dubtasticMemberIm not too sure about the Q reg laws, the craic at the time from the geezer was that he’d got it from an auction and had to get on to the DVLA due to the chassis number being filed off thus he was issued with the Q’s.
Took me months before i could afford a new exhaust, i covered over half of it in coke cans, glue and u clamp bolts. Sounded like a helicopter.
dubtasticMembertwoc’d a term used usually by the police, taken without owners consent. it was a stolen and recovered hence the Q registration plates.
and lhasa being the shade of green.

benI now have benjiquakers syncro and it’s my first mk2 so it had to be something special because im a die hard mk1 fan, since passing my test back in 03 ive had 2 tintops and 5 cabbys. Totally raped for insurance but i was 18 with a twoc’d lhasa green campaign on Q reg plates.
Now im pottering about no longer on the ronals but satin black seven spokes (home refurb) until i can find some nice 13’s. Tried the stock mk1 9 spokes and i think it would be quite a subtle homage to my roots but alas i cant afford tyres for them atm.
Ive got loads of questions that the haynes cant answer and a shopping list for trim bits that i don’t think ill find anywhere else. Im off to learn more about webers now cause the syncro growls at like 3000 for the first couple of minutes and it’s well getting on my wick.
