SOLD
a78Memberand heres all about it:
1989 Mk2 golf syncro 4×4
12 months MOT
I have owned the car for nearly the last three years and its been a joy to own.
My reason for selling is that i commute around 400 miles a week for work so have had to get a diesel car to save my pennies. That said i have been using this car for commuting for the last year which is a testament to its reliability.
Passed it’s MOT last week, only needing 1 new tyre and the carb was adjusted slightly (10 min job so not serious) for the emissions
Full service history, it has stamps in the book until 45237, i bought the car at 57185 and have all receipts etc since then, last serviced at 92151
It has a set of BBS RA 14inch alloys and a full GTI interior from a late model, in very good condition, slight wear marks on the drivers seat but there are no rips or tears and all the bolsters are still rock solid. I have kept it clean and smokefree.
Recent work over the last year:
Oct:08
New windscreen
2 new tyres
New osf and osr brake hoses
osr metal brake pipe
Nov 08:
new starter motor
new waxstat
Feb 09
Service
os CV joint
New Front brake discs and pads
nsf upper strut mount
July 09
1 new tyre
Brand spanking new MOT
Now to the bad points which are mainly cosmetic:
Some surface rust and bubbling at the bottom of the windscreen on the passenger side, both front doors have rust at the bottom of them and a patch on the nearside rear door sill, and there are a few other small spots here and there. (see pictures)
The aerial is missing
There is a small dent in the nearside front wing.
The nearside headlight is cracked but it still works fine and went through the MOT so the beam is not affected
The deep splitter at the front is held on one side securely with a cable tie.
The nearside rear door lock can be a bit dodgy, it opens fine but sometimes the lock sticks so you just need to pop the door pin down and up again to reset it.
The central locking was not working on all the doors so i just disconnected it it runs on an air pump and i assume there might be a leak in the pipes somewhere, so all doors open manually but the central locking pump is still in place.
Its a good standard solid car which is a little rough around the edges,it is 20 years old after all. As i said ive been using it to commute so have spared no expense in getting it fixed when its needed it. Im sure thats about everything but if you have any questions just get in touch. Viewings are welcome. The car is located in Bristol BS7, number is 07795387913, cash on collection, many thanks.
Included in the sale if you want them are a set of roof bars, a rear big bumper which i never got round to fitting but it is painted and the original set of steels wheels in fair condition (with 2 just legal tyres) with the black plastic centre caps.
Thanks
