hi all
i have a syncro with a abf in it and its running just shy of 170bhp
so now is time to upgrade a few things
the car will be used on track days so will be driven hard also like lauching off the line (can recommend omex launch controller to any one)
im all for easy conversions ie straight swaps in outs
-gearbox which one do i go for been looking for a rallye one but none about (been told i can use a golf 4motion is this true if so what else would i need to change or is it just stright in out)
-rear diff ??
-what else would need changing
thanksA Rallye or G60 Passat Syncro gearbox is a direct swap, however you will need to change a few more parts over as well as the box, things like the Flywheel & clutch assembly, gearlever mechanism, drive shafts, clutch operating system etc.
btw you do not need to change the rear axle as it is compatable with the Passat gearbox/transfer box
Dan (housey) has just done this conversion so he should be able to state what extra Passat parts he needed.
The rod change box won’t hold up to 170 bhp for very long, especially when “thrashed”
you will very shortly be able to say “thrashed to death”
