Right guys Ih ave finally got my head around what im doing with my syncro. I am doing with my golf.
so far I have put a full custom exhaust on so what do I do next.
I was reading about this by chris
GU. 90 bhp
1) Swap the Pierberg carb for a 32/34 or 34/34 DMTL or DMTR Weber – — + – 5bhp
2) Swap the head for the PF, PB or PG head, this has bigger inlet valves – + – 5 bhp
3) Swap the camshaft for a fast road cam say 268/270 degrees ish – – – – – + – 5 bhp
total increase 15 bhp = 105 bhp ish
Remarks, this motor has an identical bottom end as the PB motor
for number 2 swap the head. does anyone know where there is one of these for sale. What do I need to look for when buying one. does it matter how many miles the other car has done etc etc.
for number 1 if i changed the head for a bigger one would I be able to fit twin 40 webbers on or would it make no difference than the single 40 webber
number 3 can anyone recomend a place to get a fast road cam
Was also told if you put an induction kit on it would reduce hp is that right.
would it be worth changing the elements in the original filter
is there anything else i could do to
thanks for all your help guys especially chris
