re2I bought this for another project. I dont know the full specs as i bought it as it was. its a 3a block with a flowed head. It was originally from a GTI Engineering Mk1 and the conversion was done in 1996. I dont know if the valve sizes have been incresed but I expect they have at least increased inlet. I havent checked to see what cam is inside and I havent looked to see if there has been any extra lightening and balancing taken place. Its all complete and was running before it was removed. I dont have the plaque but it has been a blue block in the past which was a GTI Engineering trait.
These blocks have the necessary bolt holes for the Syncro transfer box.

re2The cam is a VW one, maybe a GTI standard cam? I cant say for sure what size the valves are without taking the head off. It also has a diesel clutch, and Magnacor leads- although no lead from the distributor to the coil.
Cheap power upgrade and just waiting for a pair of carbs to be added!
