hi guys, what trailing arms i have to use to go wide track on the back on a mk2 syncro?
i know that i can use the vr6 syncro setup, but i wonder if the mk3 1.8 is wide track to and if it is,what’s the differences between the vr6 and non vr6 mk3 rear trailing arms..thanks!

Only the GOLF 3 VR6 is widetrack, the Golf 3 1.8 Syncro trailing arms don’t even have the mounting lugs for the disc brake caliper carriers.

The Passat G60 & 2.0l Syncro has a rear track of 1420mm, while the Golf 3 VR6 is 1481 wide at the back!

    Good to know!
Is the mounting point of the rear shocks in the same place on the arm between mk2 and mk3 wide track arms?or the shock absorber will work slightly “not straight” using the mk3 wide rear on the mk2 Syncro chassis?

so the arm it’s longer from the mounting point of the suspension to the hub.
so i won’t have problems with my rear suspension working misaligned or twisted?because i have the same doubt on the front,i see a lot of mk2 running mk3 wide track on the front, but i wonder if the suspension still work perpendicular to the arm or inclined.
sorry for that lot of question and my english is not very good.
ah i forgot, what ARB i have to use with a mk2 rear axle with mk3 wide track trailing arms?and is the CV joint in the rear hub the same between vr6 syncro and mk2 syncro?

The same as you have now, or even better a Passat/Rallye one.

the VR6 Syncro has 5 stud hubs, I swapped them out for G2 4 stud ones

Ok so to wide track we wouldn’t need the mk3 VR6 beam, we’ll just need the wishbones? I take it these come with the ABS sensor mounts as standard?

It is a lot easier to fit everthing in one go as I did, VR6 beam, wishbones, driveshafts etc

I’m struggling to find the full set. Found one in South Germany but it’s collection only :( Thinking that the wishbones might be easier to find on their own if they’ll fit the mk2 beam.

Ordered the wishbones…hoping the mk2 beam is ok [:D]
