Syncro upgrade questions

Hi, can i pluck your brains please guys? im after some info for upgrading my gearbox setup on my syncro,it currently fine but id like to start looking at options after finding out they dont hold much power.

1. are rallye gearbox’s on hydraulic clutch? if so what pedal box is used? vr6?

2. can a passat G60 syncro CBC code be used as an upgrade or is it incompatible?

they can be either cable or hydraulic, the Passat 35i pedal set up fits

it will fit without any problems

Thanks again Chris, Im really struggling to find a rallye box but have found a couple of the passat g60 boxes on German eBay, are they stronger than the syncro box?

Yes the 02C box is a lot stronger.

These codes say CBC is that a problem?

Its a standard Passat 02C box so will fit,

btw have you seen the fitting list of other parts you will need? (on here somewhere)

I haven’t Chris, I knew i would need to change the clutch to hydraulic and the reversing switch I’ve noticed is different but apart from that I thought it was a straight swap over but now I fear it’s not the case lol

You can use a cable clutch & you should get the reversing switch on the 02C gearbox.
