i have a syncro rear axle with trailing arms which im converting to haldex. to fit my rallye
so im wishing to renew the hubs and bearings and my mate who works at gsf is supplying with mk1 wheel bearings and early passat hubs does this sound right?
converting the syncro trailing arms to disc brakes
the wheelbearing should be a 72mm one
same as on the front

but the axle was originally a syncro one with drum brakes. but i spoke to bam20v on here and said hes never seen a rear axle with 72mm bearings and he has 10 syncro/rallye axles at the mo.
Some are 68mm, some are 72 mm. Most syncro were 68mm I think.
From 1986 to 88 they were all 68mm, from 1988 on they were 72mm but
I have seen a Rallye with 68mm and ALL Rallyes were built in 1989,
Also my first G2 Syncro (a 1988 model) had the 72mm rear bearings
