    Hi,

I have the level sender unit removed from my 1.8 carb mk2 jetta syncro. I have a standard fwd digifant lift pump. I have read on this forum that you can disassemble the two and create a syncro lift pump. I have studied the two assemblies and cannot see how this could be done. Does anyone have any photos of a modded lift pump? Or perhaps a short description on how I got about doing this?

Ok I see that I can get the pump to work with the deeper tank by lengthening the piece of rubber hose it is crimped to the assembly with, that would sort the fuel pickup issue. Then I am left with the level sender issue. I could bend and make up a longer wire arm, however with the longer arm I fear it may foul the side of the tank when it floats up to the top with a full tank of fuel to due its extra length.

Searching google images I found an image that lead me back to this site:

ld50 has a useful guide that shows how to modify the two pumps, to make one pump. I reckon I will do what he suggests.
