Did any other (USA) cars come with the same brake calipers as the Rallye Golf? I believe the Corrado G60 in front but what about the rear?
I got the bits from a Passat G60 Syncro but the seller shorted me of the brakes.
The Passat Syncro rear brakes are the same as the Rallye.
Yes, but we got neither of those cars in USA. I was looking for something I could source locally (USA).
There is not really anything vw that will fit.
nothing special about the rear calipers. the carriers are what makes it different
you want to use the “old style” calipers which came on the MK2’s with rear discs and older corrados and passats
i’ve got “FWD” rear calipers on my golf. works great
I have a 1988 Jetta 16V with rear discs, so that should go on the Syncro axle (except for the hub of course)?

No. You can only use the calipers. You need new e-brake wires, new discs and caliper carriers.
Okay, thank you.
you need these cailper carriers

Great website. Thanks!
Does this look like the correct brackets?
no. they don’t
not for the rears at least, for those you can look at chris’s link. the photo there is taken of the actual carrier (longer between mounting holes)
I used the part number from the website at Chris’ link. [:0][][?]
