Hi, hope someone can help ( I have had a look in the drivetrain section btw but didn’t find the answer)
I have a CBC code gearbox fitted in my rallye and I need to know what & how much oil I need to put it in as currently it has none as it’s been drained.
Also does anyone know if this is shared oil way box?
Thanks for any help
Just realised this should be in the technical section [
]
If Chris would move it? That would be great
First of all, your Rallye should have an ASU code gearbox, the CBC code box was only fitted to the Passat G60 Syncro from Feb 91 to Jan 93, if you check your transfer box casing you will see that it is made out of aluminium, the correct Rallye transfer casing is made out of cast iron.
As for the oil capacity,
02C cablechange box with code ASU 29059 onwards & all other cable change gearboxes 2.4 liters.
your gearbox has oilways & will automatically fill the transfer box up to the correct level
Thanks for the info, Does it matter that mines from a passat and the casing is aliminium? so i just need 2.4L of 75W90?
Thanks

The ratios are very slightly different but it doesn’t really matter that much, its only if you decide to sell & the buyer mentions it
So i just need 2.4L of 75W90? Yes thats it, synthetic or semi synthetic is best
Thanks
