hi can anyone help. my front end prop was moving way off centre. opened up and found the donut rubber had a tear and the bush and metal surround had cracked and stretched. had this repaired and put in new donut gold cover facing away from trf box and bolted all up; only to find that there is still movement on the donut the front prop does not turn true. its slight but still movement. does anyone know the reasons as cogs are £700 if they are worn. any suggestions what else it could be?. also worst case which gearbox and trf case can i use i know of golf 2 syncro, golf 3 ( 4 motion?) passat 35i. any other gbox and trf box combos. thanks

maybe the “cv” on the transferbox is somewhat bent? don’t know the right word for this, but that 3 armed plate that the doughnut is mounted to

thanks, will check that, also going thru the threads i think the garage has bolted all 6 bolts the same way instead of 3 from front and 3 from rear. will inspect in morning inc the clover thing. thanks
