The syncro system is not weak, it just has a lot of traction, hence the gearbox has to transmit more torque before wheelspin
If you increase traction with lsd’s the gearbox will have to transmit more torque again and this is bad news especially if your engine has a high rotating mass (eg VR6) as that will make it possible for some massive shock loadings to occur when you launch, and something has to slip be it the tyres, clutch or gears, Fitting a bolt kit the front diff is highly advisable though, if you want a stonger box you can rebuild it with stonger cogs, mine was rebuilt with cogs from an Audi A2 box
hi just been on that web site cant seem to find my car model on there.is the supension the same as a fwd vr6.so it would be better if i only fit the front diff in my car and while i am doing that replace my cogs with audi a2 box.what about gear ratios and where and what cars have this box.thanks for your time just its very hard to find anyone how knows out about syncros
The front suspension is identical to the 2wd VR6, but the rear is different (shorter)
While there is nothing listed for the VR6 Syncro you could contact MAD and see what they can come up with for you
thanks i will mail them thanks for all your help i will be posting up all my pics soon in the members rides so i will keep my eyes out now for a rallye 20mm arb for the rear and got my propshaft sorted and hopefully stifen her up and drop her 30-45mm lol

“well i dont need the vc or diff just nedd the transfer box and on a budget as i have just spent 700 on getting my propshaft sorted.but give me a ring and see if we can sort out.thanks”
So you just paid 700 pounds to get a propshaft bearing replaced, well you just got very very seriously ripped off! [:o)]
btw I Still cant see your pics, can you make a new account sorry please as I am still not a member or post all your pics as I cant see your other post pics either, eh
yeah it cost 700 forgot to say that was with a custom exhaust and a few other jobs done about those pics i will post some up now
That sounds better, but it is not entirely unknown for garages to overcharge syncro owners as you pay to be on their learning curve! [:0]
