MemberHi I’m doing a vr6 conversion and need the lift pump that sits inside the tank if anyone has one? Needs to be from a rallye.
ThanksDecember 18, 2008 at 5:31 pm #5156Chris S
ModeratorThe in tank pump from any fuel injected Syncro (GX or 1P motor) will fit as they are all the same, or you can modify a 2wd pump as basically it is only the length that is different.

MemberI’m down in Bournemouth, (south coast).
I guess it’s just the length of the pick up tube then which goes further into the tank.
Does anyone have a FI syncro lift pump for sale to save having to modify one please.December 30, 2008 at 5:36 pm #5176Chris S
ModeratorHopefully this photo of the injection/Rallye pump will help if you have to modify a 2wd pump.

ModeratorWell unfortunately that search was Quite short & simple, the only difference in the injection model 2wd&4wd parts is the fuel gauge sender which is part of the piece that fits into the top of the tank (see photo above, its the one with the metal (ally?)and rubber return pipes coming off it) and this was dropped without replacement on 01/05/2004
the original part nr was 191 919 051Q so unless you can find one on ebay, you are stuffed,
you could mod your tank neck & fit one of these though, http://cgi.ebay.de/Kraftstoffpumpe-Benzinpumpe-VW-Passat-Golf-VR6-SYNCRO_W0QQitemZ350144026481you then do not need the under floor high pressure pump

Memberthanks Chris, I wonder why I can never find these threads, guess some people are better at it than others.
From having a look about it is probably going to be a modified mk2 standard pump I think. Having your picture will help and it’s just a matter of dropping it into the tank further.
As they say can’t be that hard. There are so many of them about I could probably buy 10 of them for the price of rallye item.
I am liking that in tank option thou looks like a good idea on de ebay, I will translate the description later.
The only avenue I havn’t looked at yet is wether a vr6 mk3 syncro pump will fit in the mk2 tank!
