My car is an ’88 Jetta 16V and I am installing the drive line out of a ’93 Passat Syncro. Does the Passat center drive shaft fit or should I source a Jetta drive shaft? I assume a Golf 4 door will be the same as the Jetta? What about the Golf 2 door, would that fit my 4 door Jetta? Thanks.

The centre section of the Passat 35i, Golf 2 & Jetta 2 syncro models are all the same,

its the outer sections which differ in length (Passat are longer & Larger diameter)

Thank you, do you know if the Golf/Jetta 2 and 4 door are the same? I guess I could look up the wheel base and see if they differ.

Are you running with cats? as the heat from them destroys the centre front CV joint boot (part nr 8 in the drawing) its a special part as well & nothing like the drive shaft boots.

It does have cats now but I don’t have to keep them.
