dropped it off today for its mot tomorrow, fingers crossed
unfortunately it failed boo but on the upside nothing to major,
the boot lid wouldnt open even though he was told the switch was on the centre console, front wishbone mount had to much play, needs door pops on the outside, can not rely on the alarm fob to pop door, front indicator bulb decided to blow on the way there, apparently the rear subframe didnt look tight, not that he ever seen one before or even checked it properly, oh well
I would take it somewhere else, like the local VW dealers.

Doors:
Latch securely in closed position. Front doors should open from
inside and outside the vehicle. Rear doors should open from outside the vehicle. Hinges and catches for security and condition.

Both front doors must be openable from the inside and outside and all doors must latch securely.
a passenger door must open from the outside using relevant control
It does not say that they have to open mechanically only “relevant control” so I would query that one!
well its through now, little button put on the outside for entry, everything done so its probably as good as new
ive decided the gearbox mounts are to harsh and ordered some new ones, which ill get fitted and should quieten it down a bit, since i’m going to drive on the road as an everyday car too
Congratulations on passing! any photos of your door mod please?
thank you chris, no door mods, just a small button put on each of the mirrors to allow entry with a switch inside to turn it off when I leave the car
Good idea!
Great build mate nice to see something abit different
Thanks, had a few teething problems not been able to drive it since the steering rack decided to split at the feed side,
who ever wired the loom for the digifiz to ce2 should be shot, the block connector from digifiz was wired correctly but down to U1 and U2 pins were all over the place,
next thing with this to wire in a speedo converter to mph
well this little bit of kit is awesome, it converts your kph to mph, also has adjustment in it for different wheel or tyre size and gearbox changes, it also records your top speed, very easy to wire in []
had a few issues with the rack, it started leaking due to over tightening a banjo against a part of the rack and splitting it open, but at the same time done me a favour it had to come out because the tie rod was hitting the inner wheel and was causing the wheel to over steer on parking specially 3 point turns, so hopefully this is the answer to cure that little problem , mk2 lhd rack with vw transporter t5 tie rod and ends
that little mod worked a treat, now gotta sort out the ackerman effect, even though the lhd rack wont cure it, so been digging around and turns out from 2008 the audi a4 have moved their steering from the bulkhead and mounted under the engine in front of the driveshafts, bingo
so sourced a rack next job fit it, slightly larger in diameter but should fit
one small up date its been into the spray booth, now looking minty fresh
