After all my recent health problems of the last few months,
I felt really good yesterday and attacked the wide track rear axle that it seems like I have been trying to build for ever,
I completely stripped it down to just the wishbone and looked at what is really needed to make the adjustable tracking work, and the answer appears to be ‘Not Much’ []
My local metalwork shop is (hopefully) at the moment machining all the needed steel to make the 8 locating brackets, and for only 20 euros for the lot [] they have promised me this for late friday afternoon!
So hopefully I can start with this on saturday and a photo guide will follow shortly.
This work is of course related to the other not yet completed photo guides like
‘Drum to Disc rear brake conversion’, ‘Fitting a Rallye rear anti roll bar’ & ‘Changing a rear differential’
With all good intentions, come all the obstacles that prevent one from acomplishing those intentions!
All the great syncro gurus appear to have extra difficulty with this issue! (pun intended[])

If these things were easy to do everyone would be doing them!

Is there also money that grows on trees and rivers that flow with beer? []

I like to think that sooner or later everyone will be, you just have to make it that bit easier for them, []and If there was “money growing on trees & rivers flowing with beer” then I really wouldn’t get anything done.
Progress report, one side of the wishbone is now fully adjustable, both the inner & outer mountings are ready and functioning, I started the on the other side today, hopefully it will be completed this week end then I can post the full photo guide within a week or so,
I will post some photos here later this evening.
Photo guide now up and running, I will try and take some better photos later []
See guide for progress
Looking good, clever stuff.
