Memberhi peps
after many hours of searching i’m still none the wiser,so it’s question timebasically i’m fitting haldex to my syncro converted g2 , i am using a 5 speed box been told looks like an o2a dereived box and skoda elegance rear diff i have been told that i don’t need to shorten any drive shaft or propshatfs is this true? so to put it simpler fit rear diff and gear box and bolt all shafts straight on ?
if this isn’t the case then would anyone give me an insite on exactly what mods need to be done with the shaftsalso i am looking to be running hopefully up to 550bhp and about 400-450lb/ft will the above set up take the power ? i’m not intrested in dragging it just trackdays and street use
thanks in advance

Memberok i may push my luck power wise but you have broken yours on a drag strip when you go from nothing to everything , did you ever sleeve the transfer case as i do know a man who is amazing with machiinig and tigging ? you seem like you have not had much luck with haldex?
how about the shafts?

MemberWhat is it with all these flatland farmer boys wanting to break all our precious syncro gear?
go on Nutter4x4 steer him straight to haldex from the get go or better still use some 4×4 tractor gear, that should hold 500bhp!
Good luck with your quest crazyfarmer, you’re gonna need it
cheers Mike

nutter4x4Participant1st one i broke on a gravel drive way so it had plenty of slip, personally i`d go straight to 02m now, i should have done it ages ago, it`s not hard to convert over just needs the brackets for 02m to the mk2 subframe, got mine from C2UK motorsport

Memberi would prefere not to go with the o2m because of the shere weight of the box and personally i can’t stand any 6 speed gearbox , i allready have the skoda haldex sitting around a mates house with a 02m out of a tt
i’d like to stay with the idea of the skoda but only as long as i do not need to shortn any shafts if the case is that i will need to get custom shafts then i will use an 02m
are all haldex diffs compatable with the 17/27 ratio transfere boxcheers

nutter4x4Participantmaybe a little heavy just turn up the boost, lol
all haldex are compatible 17/27

Memberright ok i have had a little think about it i am going to use a 5 speed for definate and try and find a solution for the obviously weaker transfere casing, i have found a gearbox on ebay at moment which i beleive is one of your friends nutter
so what i will do is use the vr6 box with a 4cyl bellhousing with a peloquin front diff this should be really well geared for my 16vt hopefully ,using a skoda/a3 transfere boxwith the transfere box i am going to look along the lines of getting my mate to CADand CNC a new stronger casing or as mentioned on a presvious topic sleving it with ally
as for shafts am i right in thinking that i am not going to shorten any of them? just fit 4 motion innrer c.v joints for extra strength
controlling it i am going to use a manual controller from sqs
does this sound like it should work nutter4x4
cheers

nutter4x4ParticipantNope r32 hybrid 02m lol nothing simple as usual, power depending on boost0.9bar 355bhp or 1.2bar 465bhp, if it can get traction on the rollers it should be more
