ParticipantI have a golf carb syncro front right driveshaft, does anyone have the part number for a 100mm cv? for gsf ECP etc.
Last time I purchased one from GSF the joint would not fit (it was about about 10mm to wide). Are there different size 100mm inner CV joints?
Thanks

MemberSounds like you might have the 90mm shafts.
VW did 2 sizes, 90mm and 100mm flanges. Afaik, the 100mm shafts were only fitted to GTi’s and very late cars.
Is your engine the 1.8 carb lump? as i think these had 90mm shafts.

ParticipantThe sfat had 90mm inner CVs fitted, I bought 100mm ones from GSF, but htey would not fit.
The were too wide and were not able to physically sit down far enough to get the snap ring on the end (even with the bottom concave washer removed).

ModeratorThey wont fit, you need the very late G2 Syncro shaft or you can blob a weld on to keep the joint onto the end of the shaft.

Cheers again!
A mate recommended taking them to a machine shop to have another groove cut in on the lathe.
