I’m just curious – what benefits do the 4Motion outer CV joints give?

How much wider track does the wide-track conversion give?

The wide track rear gives 1cm per side [:)]

    Updated and compleated the setups.

Don’t know if they are any better then Syncro items in the rear, but in the front I’m told the’re stronger.

    Great list of info.
Everyone must keep in mind that this info ONLY applies to a Mk2 Syncro CONVERTED to a Haldex rear diff such as from an Audi TT or similar.
Very little info here is of use on a stock Mk2 syncro.

Regarding the 4-motion rear outer CVJs, they are a bit bigger and stronger than the Syncro outer CVJ, but they do not accept the syncro type ABS ring without machining.

Which is the most robust of the set ups, as i am still looking at all my options and do have a vr6 turbo i might transplant into my syncro.

Its already in a mk2, but a non syncro, and that is running the wide track mk3 widetrack hubs currently

Q)Which is the most robust of the set ups,
    A) Torsten is the strongest, but out of what will relatively easily fit, Haldex is stronger than the original Syncro set up

I am not sure, but I think you need at least the ABS wheel senders.

SQS make a controller that’s simpeler. No electronics.
