    hey there what volts would you say the syncro normally charges at with no load it is charging around 13 volts. i was always told it should be around 14 volts with load its down around 12.7. wuld u say this was to low? cheers

    The max voltage should be 14.4 volts

    your alternator is poorly.
    14.4 is ideal charging voltage but in automotive applications it’s nearer to 15v as it ensures the cells are equlised the absolute maximun is 16.2v.

    the alternator should be able to hold it’s output voltage constant over it’s rated output if not it’s broken.

    yes, but above 14.4 volts the battery begins to boil & lose fluid.
