In a word — ‘Neither’ — You really need Haldex to Perform at this sort of level (450 whp GOLF in drag strip) as you would be forever breaking things on the Syncro system, and as you uprated one part you would just expose the next weakest, and so on ad infinitum, well almost, as you would reach a level where it was not possible to uprate anything any further, and you would still be having failures. You are right Chris, but I want to try with this concept (syncro) first, I will see my car in road races and RWYB so I want to know which angle drive is the right for these situations? Its impossible to use HALDEX this moment but we think about it.

I would have thought changing the ratio would be a bad idea, it will either wind up or cause huge parasitic losses slow you down and break something. tho it could also work the other way round so you would need more slip on the front wheels before the rear diff trys to put power down.

anyways I guess your enigne is making about 550 -560 at the fly that is really to much for an 02c box, lots of potential for giving haldex problems there as well, I think you should be looking at the quattro torsten system

    Q) Which angle drive is the right for these situations?

    A) Either will do and both will break, But for a variety of reasons (Availability and cost among others) I personally would prefer the 20/21 ratio, whichever ratio you fit you will of course need the matching rear differential to suit the angle drive

Nobody reach this level (450 whp) with syncro using it in drag race?Have you ever heard which part have serius problem and other ways to make my syncro system stronger to handle this power?

There are many people who have Syncros with 350hp or more. Some have gone over 500hp. The Syncro system will break with this HP. Many people have tried modifying the syncro system to handle more HP, but something else will break next. The money you spend to make a syncro system stronger will exceed the money you spend to convert to Haldex.
go to http://www.vwvortex.com and look through the syncro forum. You will find many people with broken syncro rear diffs and angle drives. They have all asked the same questions as you, and found the same answers. A syncro system will not handle more than 300hp without some breakage. Even with 160hp, a stock G60 Syncro can break parts if subjected to regular DRAG racing stress.

Here is some interesting info that shows some of VWs mods for the VWMS competition Rallye. http://dutchdub.com/images/Forumpics/GolfRallyeGRA.pdf

If you look through the photos, you will notice that they used bigger rear diffs and custom angle drives. The bigger rear diffs are from a Sharan Syncro. These diffs bolt up to the Haldex bracket produced by dutchdub. The Sharan uses a 17/27 angle drive, so the 20/21 or 16/21 angle drive won’t work. Apparently there is a 17/27 angle drive from a SEAT that will fit the cable shift Rallye gearbox, permitting the haldex or Sharan rear to be used.

If you want cheap, cheerful & fragile then use a standard 4 cylinder (20/21)set up, this will cost a lot less to replace than any other system when it breaks, and it will break, a slight improvement would be with an early Rally (ASU Code)gearbox as this has a cast iron transfer box casing instead of the aluminium one, all the systems mentioned above will break at this power level with the exception of the Haldex.
