Hi i have just found your site, im a keen dubber and have so far owned
Mk1 Golf 1.8 GTi Cabrio
Mk3 Golf 2.8 VR6
Mk3 Vento 1.8 CL
The latter being my current car, i am looking into a large project which is what drew me to this site, i am hoping to convert my vento into a 2.8 VR6 Syncro with a few engine mods.
I do however seem to be having problems finding out how much this would cost me to do, time wouldnt be an issue and it would all be done by me and a few friends, so it is really just parts costs. And also how difficult would this be, can anyone shed some light on the subject for me. Cheers
What ever you think it will cost in time and /or money? well double it and then add a whole lot more.
As for the work involved, you will probably need to swap the Vento rear floor for the VR6 Syncro one, I say probably because I dont actually know for sure, except to say that the Vento & VR6 Syncro have different part numbers for this, which means a different part, but how different is anybodys guess.
The cheapest way to start this project would be to buy a VR6 Syncro as a donor car, this will save a lot of headaches & extra costs later down the line.
Here is a link just to give you an idea

Blimey thanks, thats pretty much what i was looking for, looks like a fair bit of work, but i think its worth it for something fairly unique, now just to find a knackered syncro…….[
