Gearbox/transfer box

Hi all

I have now got my syncro roadworthy and started driving it, however there is a unpleasant noise coming from somewhere. I have a feeling it is due to wear in either the gearbox or transfer box, or posibly a prop shaft bearing but dont think its this. So my question is does anyone have a gearbox/transfer box setup for sale, only looking for standard stuff as not looking to put loads of power through it. Also if I want to replace the bearing in the prop can anyone point me in the direction of anyone still selling the bits?

I have a couple of std syncro gearboxes and transfer cases in the shed

for parts, VeeW services in bristol come highly recomended by me, they have have been well trained in the art of finding syncro parts or sutable replacements for the ones that arn’t avalible and they will post stuff. ask for matt (aka beavis) and say danny sent you

Thanks for your replies, thats great. Im going to get in on axle stands tonight and get under while its running and see if I can work out whats making the noise and then Ill come back to you. Where abouts are you based Danny?

Im very near to Gatwick.

What sort of money are we talking?

im in ross-on-wye there are gearboxes here, or there are more gearboxes in bristol. £50 if you can pickit up, will be more if you want it posted as there a pain to package

i have one good syncro box with transfer box, one with a suspected cracked clutch release fork with transfer box, and a pair of front driveshafts. take the lot away for £50 as it’s cluttering up my mum’s drive. i’ll chuck in a rear diff as well just to get rid.. 07809 148639 give me a ring if you’re interested cheers, olly
