Wanted: MkII Golf Syncro

Have been vaguely looking at getting a syncro again since I might be able to afford to run one again now…! Anyway, looking for a relatively ‘vanilla’ syncro though am willing to put a bit of time into it. Weber rather than pierburg would be nice, and RHD is a must… but otherwise not too fussy! Anyone selling anything like that?

PS: I’m in London, but I’ll travel a bit for the right deal

Now for the Stupid Question – is that actually a PB GTI engine? That looks exactly like my previous, normal syncro engine bay looked… probably being stupid!

No its not a PB GTI engine, it has a PB GTI head fitted (bigger inlet valves) & also a Weber Carb it should be making just over 100 bhp,

It actually belongs to Eddy Young, member EDDY on here,
He has done a lot of work to keep the car in top condition.

I’m probably gonna go and view it on sunday, since it’s relatively close to where I’ll be. Any idea if it belongs to anyone on here?

It looks like it’s *relatively* standard, apart from the interior and the new cluth, as well as various other upgrades (steering wheel, a few exterior mods etc) – ie cosmetic stuff. Anyway, it didn’t sell yesterday – he’s got a price on it (and presumably reserve) of £2000 – is that a little unrealistic?
