Basically I got the chance to have a good look under the car at the MOT station and my question is about the rear drive change on my syncro (running rallye rear end).
How much lash is acceptable from the drive chain, from prop to wheels and wheels to each other and prop? What set-up is in there (any exploded diagrams) and can the lash be removed by shims or?? Also got slight lift on one driveshaft, thoughts on this? Could it just need rebuild and lash tolerance regained or just waiting on the explosion?
I’m a preventative maintenance type of guy and would prefer to be pro active than reactive to the diff situation if it is possible.
How easy is it to say get a secondhand diff and get it refurb’d, not seen many about that aren’t in Germany!
Cheers
Had this on Dubforce but got an easy reply

I think the best place to ask is on VWSyncro website.
Ask Chris for help as he has rebuilt these before and may be able to help source a unit form Germany for you if he doesn’t already have one.
So here I am, loads of info already gained as I’m real new to the syncro world, lots more needed
##edit## Just realised. Whilst looking for answered I should have asked if the rear diff is the same on syncro and Rallye and are driveshaft the same and cup sizes etc? Thanks
