Went to the local Subaru specialists to put my Syncro on the rollers today.Operator was nervous about doing a power run because it did not behave like a 4wd Subaru on the rollers and he did not want to wreck my car.
The dials initially showed power being fairly equally shared front and rear but as he accelerated more power went to the front and hardly any to the rear wheels so that they were rotating much more slowly than the front.
Can someone tell me is this what I should expect and it would have been quite safe to do a power run or is this abnormal and if so any ideas what may be happening?
R32 engine,Vr6 gearbox,Vr6 rear diff.
As a warning to anybody thinking you can run a VR6 gearbox with a standard diff he had a scrap vc out of a car where someone had a 3.9 gearbox but a 4.1 diff.It did not last long.Match the ratios!
Hi Chris. Thanks for that advice. No not had it done yet.Had quotes though in with other work that needs doing.Perhaps the whole rear diff will need to come to Holland for a rebuild ( I have a spare diff too).Or maybe just go Haldex.
