OK guys this is driving me bonkers!
I have fitted the new rings (broke 1 trying it!) over the CV joints, problem is they keep spinning arround the CV joint and are not held firmly in place.
Do you have to glue them or something?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

What Car & year please,
btw, it sounds like the rings have been stretched, I had no problems at all when fitting my new ones, although ETKA does say to also use
P/N 1H0 501 639 ‘covering’ when fitting new sensor rings, unfortunately there is no drawing of what this is or what it does
Its for a 89 golf syncro.
I ordered new ABS cv joints, turns out my syncro had ABS CVs fitted already though?!
I heated the ring and tapped it on, went on nice and smooth, the bugger spins round though. Wondered if you have to compress it once its on, or if it is just simply suppose to push on.
How did you fit yours Chris.
I believe P/N 1H0 501 639 is for cars with stub axles only. I had to buy them as well, useless though.
I didnt heat mine, I just pushed the over the cv joint with firm thumb pressure, then gently tapped them the last millimeter to seat them correctly with a nylon hammer, they are a nice snug fit and grip the joint.
perhaps you have stretched yours by either heating or hammering them?
Why dont you try 2 new ones and just grease the outside of the joint then slide them over just as did.
I must be to heavy handed.
I tried greasing that didn’t work, so thats why I tried heat.
Might just bond them on, as the over £12 each []
Thanks
Last march I paid 22.50 euros for a pair of them from the VW dealer over here in Holland, that makes them less than 8 pounds each.
