MemberNot much related to propshaftbearings??
Have you all changed the propbearing and rubbermount?
Anyways i have now made a buy for some parts and hope they fit.
They should be a straight change from the original parts.September 24, 2013 at 1:14 pm #10304G19
ParticipantHi,
I have replaced on mine couple years ago, but that was due to my car body shaking violently under load. It did not fix the vibration though.
I suppose I am one of the lucky ones that was able to buy near last sets of bearings at the time.

MemberI now actually have replaced my propshaftbearings with BMW E30:s bearings.
The fit is NOT!
You have to rebuild the whole holder.
Then the bearing sits a little bit to low.
But i made it fit in the end with just a couple mm off.Nothing to recomend to them that can’t weld or make stuff by hand [
]I think i will do it again.
But may as well buy some OEM just for the sake of it.
They are listed att VW Classic Parts anyways.June 22, 2014 at 9:03 pm #10741Chris S
ModeratorI just checked with Classic parts & these bearings are no longer available.
I recently bought 4 of these
they fit the propshaft perfectly but the bracketry needs some working on,
I had hoped to get on with this this month but this last my week left shoulder has seized up again & my left arm is virtually unusable,
it looks like I will need another operation before I can use it again.
so I’m sorry but this project along with a few others, is back on hold for the forseeable future, i’ts so frustrating!

ParticipantHi Chris,
Could you post an updated link to the component you found on ebay that works as a replacement?
the current link seems to have changed to another part.I have to replace my propshaft carrier bearing as the rubber has failed.
