One of the problems fitting the kit you have bought is the rear diff to boot floor mounting.
The Golf 3 mounting bar is shown in the photo to the left of the propshaft, I have ringed it in blue, and also the other half of the mounting bolted to the back of the diff, these must be changed for the Golf2 Syncro items as the Golf3 mounting bar wants to run right through the middle of the petrol tank, btw the Golf3 Syncro petrol tank will not fit under the Golf2.
On the shock absorber brackets (ringed in yellow) are numbers these will tell if your arms came of a Golf VR6 Syncro 1H0 (wide track) or a Passat VR6 Syncro 357 (standard track)
Chris with all your contacts do you ever see complete set ups for transplants?
Sorry just re-read, I see you are able to get most items. Read twice, write once!
I am struggling to find this set up either as a cheep enough complete car or as bits, 2.9 engine through to rear discs. Any help either point me in the write direction or if your able to source would be great.
Have a look on mobile.de
or ebay.de

Cheers, the mobile web site has quite a few.
Is it the same sort of game with dealers as it is here are they open to offers on cars or do they expect the price advertised.
Am I correct in thinking that the number plate is registered to the person and not the car so the car would need trailering back as opposed to being driven with no plate.
Yes they are open to sensible offers, the plates as you say belong to the person not the car and you would need to apply (in Germany) for an export license (number plate) thae dealer should be able to do most of this for you though, just dont expect much of a discount as it is some extra work for him
Cheers for that Chris, i’ll keep an eye on it over the next couple of weeks and read up on how others have done it.
Thanks
Tim
