    Hello. my speedo seems to work for a bit then stops. Dont know much about these cars as yet as im a new owner. Is the speedo cable driven or is it electronic off a sensor?

    Its a 1989 Golf Syncro

    Its mechanical, its probably the cable thats broken.

    Part Number is 192 957 803B But unfortunately it was dropped without replacement by VW on 01-01-2008

    btw its the same as the 2WD Golf 2 cable, so a trip to the scrapyard may be in order!
