Hi folks been a while.[]
My 16v corrado syncro project is almost done now. Just stuck on fuel lines….
My existing lines will not fit as the floor is alot higher, so I need to order new lines (fuel pipe feed & fuel pipe return). I have looked on VAGCAT and there seems to be 3 listed for the syncro:
1. DIGIFANT
2. G-LADER
3. K-JETRONIC: GX
Which one is the high pressure ones? I have asked VW, they were useless []
Any help appreciated! []
What fuel system are you running 1, 2, or 3?
the actual plastic fuelpipe itself seems to be the same material for all the different versions, so I wouldnt worry to much about that side of it , it is just a matter of getting one that physically fits, or could you adapt it with some of the VW high pressure fuel pipe, p/n N 020 281 1 which costs about 10 pounds a meter.
Hi Chris,
I have 2.0 16v, I belive its running K-Jetronic.
At the moment there are 2 pipes from the main pump (fuel return and fuel feed). Each are connected to the main pup via flexible hose that is clamped on to a rigid line, this rigid line then makes its way across to the lift pump, where it is then clamped via flexible hose.
The problem I have are the rigid lines, basically they now need to go across and up, so the corrado ones are too short. Even if they were long enought the lines are very rigid and seem to have been preformed to match the shapoe of the floor.
It is probably easy to run flexible lines, but I was a bit concenred as I know the 16v have very high pressure fuel systems due to the mechanical fuel injection.
Hope this clarifys my question a bit more.
Let me see what I have in my magic shed, I am sure I have a Rallye fuel pump & lines lying about somewhere,
Ok I have had a look at my spare pump & what I would do is to cut the plastic pipes and extend them where needed with the high pressure flexy pipe p/n N 020 281 1, making sure it was clamped together properly of course!
for extra security you could always fit compression olives onto the cut ends before you clamp them up.
btw the VW clamps are p/n N 100 834 01
Microbore copper pipe works well, as does high pressure braided rubber pipe, K-Jet is 7 bar iirc so rubber hoses with an integral braid are fine.
Thanks for your replys.
Don’t suppose there is a part number for the olives?
No, as the olives are not a VW part, I should take a piece of the plastic pipe with you to ensure a correct fit, and try a plumbers merchant or a caravan/camping centre or maybe even somewhere like B & Q for them.
or any place that fits lpg kit to cars, they use lots of 6 & 8 mm microbore
Thanks again.
This place is a mine of information.
I will post some pics soon, in the meantime I have a thread on the Corrado forum if anyones intrested:
