Hi, just came across this site. I have a non-runner 1989 jetta syncro, that I had trailered it down from Scotland to my parents home in the midlands 7 years ago. Very shortly afterwards I was accepted into university and was not around to work on it. Now I am back my priorities are less fun more work as is possible but the car has been here all that time. The reason I bought it was I loved the little vw’s and 4×4, aswell as saloons, my first car was a mk2 polo and wanted to relive that but better. I’m hoping someone will have a good home for this one. I know from this astonishing graph http://howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/volkswagen_jetta_syncro there only around 10 of the 100 left, would be a shame to let it sit here. Would have loved to have installed an s3 1.8t engine and quattro drivetrain in this, such a mammoth task would be well out of my available time I suspect though.

For daily commuting I have a non-runner 1999 a6 quattro I just need to get the engine running and it will be good for comfortable commute with leather heated seats and all :-)

Beautiful vw’s here, sure I have seen some of them before at curburgh or santa pod. I’m just down the road from where curburgh short circuit was. Would have loved to go round that in a sorted syncro before it went aswell.

    Any chance of some pictures?

How much were you thinking of selling it for?
