i have a 97 golf cl . i had just rebuilt an ABA …. now i put the lump in the golf and the driveshaft is hitting the bracket to the MOUNT!.. Stupid US SPEC (mexico)[
] ABA bracket … CAN somebody tell me if they made a syncro specific right rear bracket for an 2.0 ABA… because i need to know ..
frank
Yes the right rear engine mounting bracket is Syncro specific, if you dont have the correct one fitted it will burn the rubber boot off the driveshaft in a very short time, About 10 miles should do it nicely!
btw If you do want the correct engine mounting bracket? I have one for sale here, please email me privately
Sure chris, i would love to purchase the mount, how do i contact you, i dont know your email? shipping to 11714 Bethpage NY USA…thanx frank[:p]
There are 2 different mounts depending on if you have 90mm or 100mm inner CV joints , but Dont worry I have both types of bracket here, let me know which CVs you have please, my e-mail is syncrogolf2@zonnet.nl
Hi Chris,
I might be in need of the rear Rallye engine mount, more specifically the 100mm one. To confirm is this the one being referred to?

Don’t suppose you know if the std Corrado one would fit? As it has 100mm inner CVs as well?
Thanks
Yes thats the one, I dont think the 2wd corrado one will fit due to the drive shaft being shorter to accommodate the transfer box, this puts the Joint/boot assembly right in front of the mounting bracket [}

Ah ha!
Don’t suppose you have a spare rallye rear bracket for sale?
Probably, I will look this week end, if not the Passat 35i Syncro uses the same bracket.
