    Hi all,

Wondered if somebody could help me with fault finding a major problem on this car.
After taking the engine out to replace the clutch, with everything refitted as it should be (all electrical connections & vacuum hoses back in their places) – when the battery is connected the oil and temperature lights come on immediately without putting the key in the ignition.
The engine turns over and has diesel in the pump but won’t push any diesel into the injectors.
Is this the ECU telling me that something is connected wrong? Or does it need something in the ECU re-setting?

I’d be really grateful if anyone here has had experience with the mk3 TDi and could point me in the right direction for solving this one. Thanks

Have you tried bleeding either the pump or injectors?

you usually only need to bleed 1 injector & the other 3 will pull through

Well thats how we used to do it, I dont know if it’s the same on your motor

I have not got ETKA on my computer atm so cant be of more help sorry.

    I just found these

Have you removed the solenoids by any chance and did you put them back in the right place? Just tried it with my GIII TDI and when the diesel pump solenoid is removed, the engine warning light stays on even without the key in the ignition. Just a thought!

Thanks I’ll get to work, I’ll chuck in a lift pump to get the fuel flow through.
I found the TDi forum last night and joined that to post there so hopefully I’ll be able to fix this bloody car without having to take it to the garage and go through “whats that I’ve never seem one of those syncros before!!”
