A very rare opportunity to buy a piece of VW history.
We bought this car as my girlfriend was working on a farm at the time and this was the only one VW made that we could afford (as if we’d have anything else!).
It’s a 1991, on a H, in a beautiful (and rare) bright blue metallic. It’s a 5 door, with a MINT condition grey cloth interior.
It has been proffessionally converted to RHD using parts and wiring loom from a UK car. looks and drives as good and any original RHS car would.
It also has an LPG conversion (certificated for the next 4 years I think). We can get about £16-£18 in it for a full tank, and that’ll do 220miles, even when towing.
I have changed the wheels for 7″x15″ ATS cups, which have virtually brand new Goodyear Hydra grip tyres, which as their name suggests are awesome in the wet.
Car has a tow bar fitted, with working electrics.
Recent work completed included a new back box (a bit loud), both front wheel bearings, ball joints and track rod ends. it’s also got new GTI discs and pads up front. A new inner cv joint was also fitted at the rear.
Faults, slight kink in the bullbar at the front. Crack in the windscreen (replacement included), rear wash is disconnected as it was leaking and I think there’s no thermostat as it takes an age to get up to temperature. Also, the inner spotlamps aren’t wired up. The bonet also has a few dents, but I have another one which needs painting. The drivers wing also needs painting as the lacquer has lifted off the top.
Also included is a 2.0 8v engine from a SEAT toledo, which will fit straight in, I just don’t have the time to fit it. This also has new magnecor leads, many polished bits and a flowed head and cam. I’ve been told it’s goof for 140bhp.
Reason for sale is that the missus now doesn’t work on the farm, and she wants something a bit newer. Being an enthusiast it’s absolutely killing me to let it go as I wanted to keep it forever, but needs must, she wants a mk4 golf tdi
Also included are the original speedlines with good tyres (195’s instead of the 205’s fitted on the ATS’s)
clocks are showing 124K, but seeing as they are in miles and not km’s they aren’t the originals, and they do read 10% too high. so unsure of actual mileage. come drive the car, you won’t be disappointed, it’s great fun (and quicker than you’d think)
MOT’d and taxed until August (I think).
£4000 for everything. Less if you don’t want the spares.
We are based just outside York.
Cheers
