My glow plug warning light on my 66kw diesel syncro now flashes about 20 seconds after start up, everything still works properly.
Does any body know how to stop it flashing at me? with out going to an expensive garage!! (at the moment my glasses case hides the light!)

if this is a TDi, then i would assume that means there is a fault in the glow plug system

right, did a search this morning online and the results so far are:-
fault with the break light switch on the pedal??? why??? it’s the glow plug light!!
fault with the relay for the glow plugs. this sounds more likely
I’ve found a couple of people who have had this problem and VW just replaced those 2 parts. (then charged a fortune I guess)
So I’m going to order them and fit them first I think before I consider a garage.

just phoned up GSF, a break pedal switch is on £5.25 so I’ll be trying that first! fingers crossed.

I ended up taking it to the garage, they plugged in the computer found the fault and re set the engine management system. all done in less than 5 mins. bargin at £30!!!
I wish I could get my hands on the conector and download the software for my computer somewhere.
It’s also the last time I put jump leads on the car. next time I’ll charge up the old one or buy a new battery.
