holmeshi guys looking for some g60 steel wheels soon in good condition, surface rust is ok they dont need tyres but if they come with all the better. iam not a fan of alloys and ive found a company that can widen steel wheels which would look cool i think so get let me know a price regards darren

Chris SJust out of interest, The optimum size tyres for a Golf Syncro are 195/50-15 or 205/50-15 on the higher powered versions.
no such userI know mine WILL NOT overwhelm the 195/50 R15 Firestone Firehawks on acceleration, has high enough limits of lateral grip on them and lets go nice and progressively. It certainly doesn’t feel over-tyred, or under-tyred, unlike the new Mini I had that ran 175 wide tyres – that was always game for some sideways action.
no such userI tried 205’s on my mk2 and it din’t like them, it tended to aquaplane to easy for my liking and tyres occasionally touched the arches, my personal preferance is 195/50/R15’s in the Yoko A539 flavor
holmesI wasn’t looking to add handling, but I am certainly not looking to loose it either. I just like the look of the small wide wheels. I was also going to use wheel spacers and get the inner arches rolled. thought it might look original. I ‘wheel’ investigate ha ha . I am sad I know but it gave me a giggle.
